Unit 6 Blog:
Exercise (p.93)
As I tried the exercise on page 93 I found it a little hard to focus because it had been a while since we had one-on-one time to really sit and just enjoy each other’s company.     At first we both needed to control our giggling trying to look at each other face to face.  After a little time we were able to focus on the exercise.  It was rather neat.  We were able to focus on the needs of each other and to feel the anger or the frustrations that we had both experienced this past week.  By the time we were finished with this exercise we were able to understand the anger and dislike that we were feeling for the work situations.  We were also able to focus on helping each other to focus on the positives of our lives and to think back to our early times when we were first married and there were no real stresses that faced us.   We found this exercise helpful and suggested that we do this at least once a month.    It was awkward at first but enjoyable.
Exercise (p.115)
This exercise was interesting that this past week was one filled with different kinds of stress and as I started the exercise I found that many of the stresses really had nothing to with me and for that reason I started meditating and focused on my life and my own stressors and I was able to relive what I did not need to focus on, the things that did not affect me.    This was quiet different.
Describe the exercise and assessment process. What did you discover about yourself? What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and development? Why? What are some specific exercises or activities that you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area?
From both of these exercises I discovered that I worry about things I really do not need to think about our let clog up my mind with worry.  I learned that I need to focus on the one who is the most important in my life and not all the other people who are a part but not the main part.   The exercise that my husband and I did together is the one exercise that we want to implement into our routine on a monthly basis.
