Reflections unit 3 Blog

"The winds of grace are blowing perpetually. We only need to raise our sails". Sir Ramakrishna
This is way I see myself at this point and time . When I look at where I was in the very beginning I was drowning in all the daily stress that life threw at me and chose to handle it in a non-positive way. Since I have started my journey in August of 2009 on the path to Health and Wellness , I feel that at this point and time that I am a eight on a scale of (0-10) in my physical, spiritual, and psychological well-being. The goals that I have set for myself have been short and attainable each step of the way. Attached is a website I use often when using meditation. (YouTube-relaxation). Physically - I spend at least 30 minutes a night taking a walk around my development with my headset playing classical music and as I walk I observe all that is around me and focusing on everything but the day. When we are at the beach I walk in the morning and the evening listening to the sounds; such as the wind off of the ocean, the sounds of the sea gulls, the waves hitting the shore. While all of this is taking place I am taking deep breaths inhaling and exhaling and focus on the positive and the feeling of being carefree. Spiritually - when I complete my walks I then go to my quite space and meditate and clear my head of all thoughts and focus on the feeling of being free and having no worries. As I focus on the music I have the opportunity to focus on my inner peace. Psychologically - The last step of my daily journey consist of writing an ridding my mind of any thoughts I may have left of my stressful day. Most of the time the writings give me the finality of the day . These steps have been very helpful to me in being able to function in a healthy manner and to have a good and restful nights sleep.

Journey on relaxation

Listening to the journey on relaxation was exactly what I needed this morning. Between my son going through his divorce and all the court and mediation and reconciliation meetings and me Keeping his children and teaching from 8:00 to 3:30 each day I was really spent. Listening to this audio was excellent and made me totally forget the rough week that I had. I have been incorporating daily walks and breathing activities to help reduce the stress in my life along with listening to relaxing sounds and meditating. This was great

Meditation

Meditation is the art of silencing the mind. When the mind is silent, concentration is increased and we experience inner peace in the mist of worldly turmoil. The elusive inner peace is what attracts so many people to meditation and is a quality everyone can benefit from.
